Next Generation Labs is the second action of the School Plan 4.0, provided by the PNRR, which aims to create laboratories for the digital professions of the future within all secondary schools of the second level. This action is aimed at developing specialized digital skills in various advanced technological fields, such as:
- Robotics and automation
- Artificial intelligence
- Cloud computing
- Cybersecurity
- Internet of Things
- Making and 3D/4D modeling and printing
- Creation of digital products and services
- Creation and use of services in virtual and augmented reality
- Digital communication
- Processing, analysis, and study of big data
- Digital economy, e-commerce, and blockchain
The objectives are:
- Expand the school's educational offer
- Adapt and innovate the exit profiles to new professions with high use of digital technology
- Develop specialized digital skills starting from secondary school
The laboratories are designed as a continuum between school and the world of work, involving students, families, teachers, companies, and professionals. Advanced digital skills training experiences are also planned outside the laboratories, using augmented reality and virtual reality.
