Apple introduced new MacBook Pro and iPad Pro models with the M5 chip in mid-October. Let's review the updates Apple has brought to the market. The products can be explored from today in C&C showrooms.
M5 chip
Apple has launched the new M5 chip, marking a significant step forward in both architecture and performance. The chip is manufactured using third-generation 3-nanometer technology, ensuring greater energy efficiency and better thermal management. This means that devices can now run faster and cooler even during complex tasks.
At the heart of the M5 is an entirely new 10-core GPU architecture where each graphics core includes a Neural Accelerator. This solution allows the GPU to handle AI-based graphics tasks at greater speeds — the computing power is over four times greater than the M4 chip. Thanks to the advanced graphics engine and third-generation ray tracing, the M5 offers up to 45% better graphics performance, bringing more realistic visuals in games and smoother operation with complex 3D and AI applications.
The M5 includes up to a 10-core CPU consisting of four performance cores and six efficiency cores. According to Apple, these are the world's fastest performance cores, offering up to 15% better multi-core performance compared to the M4 chip. This results in faster 2D or 3D rendering, smoother compilations, and the simultaneous use of multiple applications without delay.
For machine learning and artificial intelligence tasks, the M5 is a true powerhouse. Image processing in the Apple Intelligence and Photos applications works significantly faster and more energy-efficiently. The unified memory bandwidth has increased by nearly 30%, now reaching 153 GB/s, which markedly improves performance in video editing, photo editing, and large data-intensive projects.

MacBook Pro 14” M5
The new M5 chip provides the 14-inch MacBook Pro model with 20% faster performance for multitasking and 22% better graphics and AI performance. The Neural Accelerators integrated into the GPU cores ensure smoother operation in machine learning and visual effects applications.
In gaming, the results are particularly impressive – frame rates are up to 3.2 times higher than the previous generation, making the experience smoother and more immersive. AI processing speed has increased 3.5 times compared to M4 and six times compared to M1. Additionally, SSD speed has doubled, accelerating system boot, file opening, and local operation of AI language models. Moreover, there is now a custom option for 4 TB of storage.

iPad Pro M5
The new iPad Pro has also fully harnessed the power of the M5 chip. The Neural Accelerators built into the GPU cores make AI and graphics processing much more efficient than before – speed is 3.5 times greater compared to M4 and a whopping 5.6 times compared to M1. Additionally, the 256 GB and 512 GB models now come with 12 GB of RAM, providing even more resources for creating demanding projects.
Fast charging has also progressed – with a 60W or more powerful charger, half the battery can be charged in just 30 minutes. The new C1X data transmission chip ensures up to 50% faster mobile connection and operates with 30% less energy consumption. The N1 chip integrates Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread services, improving the stability of AirDrop and Personal Hotspot. Wi-Fi 7 offers up to four times faster data transmission, and Bluetooth 6.0 brings lower latency and more accurate device-to-device distance measurement, useful for smart locks and keyless entry.
Vision Pro M5
For Vision Pro, the M5 chip means not only an increase in performance but also an enhanced user experience. Loading times for apps and websites are shorter, and the 10-core GPU enables developers to create even more realistic light and reflection effects. This makes the virtual environment visually deeper and more believable.
Screen throughput has increased by 10%, sharpening the image – especially for text and graphics. The screen refresh rate has risen to 120 Hz, reducing motion blur and enhancing the Vision Pro experience, even with the Mac Virtual Display function. The new Dual Knit Band strap system distributes weight more evenly, making the device more comfortable to wear for prolonged use.
